Pinellas Sheriff gets $4 mil from DoD, DHS, BIMA for facial recognition!

The 1787 Radio Network investigates grants from the Department of Defense, the Department of Homeland Security and the Biometrics Identity Management Agency to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s office. The grants and awards total $4.1 million, and are to be used for enhancement of the Pinellas Sheriff’s Office facial recognition systems, as well as for the yet undefined “Irregular Warfare Support” program.
