Witness: Santa Monica Shooter “Looked Like A SWAT-Team Member”

With a final body count of 5 (or 6, if Sun News Canada is correct), the identification of the Santa Monica shooter has finally been made public. John Zawahri was not only carrying a whopping 1,300 rounds of ammunition for his AR-15, he was literally “dressed for battle” (similar to the alleged Aurora shooter James Holmes).
“Anytime someone puts on a vest, comes out with a bag full of loaded magazines, has an extra receiver, has a handgun and has a semiautomatic rifle, carjacks folks, goes to a college, kills more people and has to be neutralized at the hands of the police, I would say that’s premeditated,” police chief Jacqueline Seabrooks said at a press conference.

Seabrooks did not identify the 23-year-old male suspect, saying authorities needed to notify next of kin living overseas.
This most likely means that the suspect is a foreign national or that his parents are (similar to the Woolwich “beheaders”), meaning this could eventually be blamed on terrorism.
The most interesting revelation comes from a witness to the shooting:
“He actually kind of glanced up at me, and then he saw two cars pull up to the corner” Jerry Cunningham-Rathner told KNBC-TV. “He was just standing up in the street. He looked like an official kind of SWAT guy. Ammo belt, full black attire. He looked like a SWAT team member.”
Based on the information coming out, my working theory is that this man was either a mind-controlled person who had been trained to do this (such as what James Holmes claimed to be) or a mercenary of some sort hired by Craft, International (or another private military contractor) to do this operation, when in reality he was being sent on a suicide mission.
The first theory, however, seems to fit the best, and be the simplest:
The Los Angeles Times reported that Zawahri, 23, had been angered by his parents’ divorce and had some mental health issues in his past. …
The Times said detectives believe Friday’s shooting spree was sparked by a family dispute. The suspect’s past mental health issues occurred when he was a juvenile and are not available to the public, the Times said.
Interestingly enough, both Adam Lanza and Eric Harris, alleged shooters at Sandy Hook and Columbine respectively, also had “mental health issues” as juveniles, and/or had previous incidents involving law enforcement.
